This Thursday we will be running the Eklutna lakeside trail in Chugach State Park. The trail is mostly packed snow with some glare ice near the trailhead. It is recommended that you bring ice grippers (yak tracks, cleats, etc.) for your shoes to get past the icy sections.
Directions from Palmer: Take the Glenn Hwy south (toward Anchorage). Exit at Eklutna. Turn Left. Head up (and up and up) the hill to the park entrance. You will either need a State Parks day pass (available at the Finger Lakes ranger station) or pay the day fee. Park closest to the lake.
Carpool: Let's meet at the bottom of the hill at 5:40. We can consolidate into cars that have parking passes (or those who really like to drive).
Since Tuesday night is a hill night, we are doing this flatter run to give our legs a bit of a break. It is an out and back run. We will go 30 minutes out and then turn around.
